GreenLab launches Fellowship Programme 2.0 and welcomes three new international researchers
GreenLab has selected three researchers for the second edition of its Fellowship Programme, strengthening the link between research, innovation, and industrial implementation.
The Fellowship Programme is funded by the Villum Foundation and developed in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Running from August 2026 to June 2028, the programme brings together researchers from different disciplines to explore how sector coupling, microgrids and industrial symbioses can help accelerate the green transition.
"The green transition requires new systemic knowledge across technology, business models, regulation and sustainability. Through the two-year Fellowship Programme, we connect researchers to real-world challenges and data, helping turn research into solutions and documenting the impact beyond GreenLab," says Lucia Mortensen, Head of Research at GreenLab.
The three selected fellows will also become part ofGreenLab’s growing international research community, which brings together more than 100 researchers and industry actors.
The three Fellowship Researchers:
Katelyn Sharratt
Postdoctoral Researcher, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Technical University of Denmark (DTU)
At GreenLab, she will explore how eco-industrial ecosystems enable innovation and support the development of new organisational forms and business models for the green transition.
"I’m excited to join GreenLab’s living-lab environment to study how entrepreneurship and innovation can accelerate the green transition. I look forward to learning from the entrepreneurs, organizations, and partners shaping this ecosystem, and contributing research on how novel organizational forms and business models emerge and scale under uncertainty."
Giulia Montanari
Postdoctoral researcher, Energy Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU)
At GreenLab she will investigate the environmental impacts of local energy demand and explore how renewable energy systems and eco-industrial parks like GreenLab can reduce both emissions and energy costs.
"I’m very excited about the opportunity to work with real-world data from the interconnected energy vectors of an eco-industrial park, and to improve my analysis through interdisciplinary collaborations, integrating different dimensions such as social, economic, energy and environmental aspects."
Hamid Rahbari
Postdoctoral Researcher, Energy system engeneering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU Construct)
Hamid Shakouri specialises in thermal energy systems, industrial decarbonisation and AI-assisted energy optimisation. At GreenLab he will focus on developing decision-support frameworks that enable better integration of renewable energy, sector coupling and system flexibility.
"I look forward to contributing to GreenLab’s vision of future eco-industrial systems by developing AI-assisted and flexibility-oriented evaluation frameworks for coordinated renewable integration, sector coupling, and system-level decision support. I am especially excited about interdisciplinary collaboration and connecting engineering analysis with sustainability, policy, and operational perspectives for future industrial transformation."
